It is no longer news that almost all parts of Nigeria are currently experiencing intense heat across the country occasioned by the hot weather. 



Indeed, the month of March is usually the hottest month of the year. It is important for Nigerians to device creative means to avoid the health implications of heat wave.

Such health issues that arise from heat wave include heat rashes, dehydration, exhaustion, heat stroke, measles, meningitis, respiratory ailments among others. The situation is made worse by the fact that Nigeria’s power generation is currently in one of its all time low, as the electricity generation recently sank to 1,580MW. 

1. Drink more water and also a lot of fruit juice in order to replace the body liquid lost through heat.

 2. Windows should be opened all day and at night to allow adequate ventilation at homes and business places. 

3. Apply a lot of sun cream to prevent sun burn and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes. 

4. If possible, avoid over-crowded places like rooms, markets and schools. 

5. Always wear light clothings and take your bath regularly if you can.
