Orange September is a series of events planned to celebrate Akwa Ibom at 30 with a mandate to position the state by showcasing the diverse and enigmatic colours of our collective history, unity in diversity, depth and range of our indigenous entrepreneurship. Here are 10 Things You Should Know About #OrangeFestival.
1. Orange Festival - the 1st event of #OrangeSeptember holds on Saturday 16th September 2017.
2. The event will feature more than 200 cultural troupes, drawn from the 31LGAs of Akwa Ibom State.
3. Orange Festival parade takes-off from Ikot Ekpene Road by Uniuyo Junction, to Aka Road, terminating at Ibibio Unity Park.
4. The Parade will end with a performance by participating troupes.
5. Orange - the colour of our state, reflects our lifestyle as a people; optimistic, sociable, hospitable, adventurous and industrious.
6. The rich cultural assets of Akwa Ibom State will be packaged and promoted at Orange Festival.
7. A synergy of amazing, unparalleled, colourful talents and skills from Akwa Ibom will be showcased at Orange Festival.
8. The parade will attract national and international patronage to Akwa Ibom arts, culture and tourism.
9. The event will rekindle the cultural consciousness amongst our people.
10. Akwa Ibom State is a worthy entertainment and leisure destination on the global tourism map.
